Most of André's work is related to the depth psychology of C.G.Jung, so the psychotherapy he provides is based on this “Jungian” approach to the soul. The core of the process of an analytical approach consists of bringing into harmony the different aspects of a person. When there is disharmony there are usually symptoms or problems that have not been made conscious yet. The therapeutic process therefore also involves the unconscious and to make the conflicting forces conscious. Dream analysis is often an important part of the work.

The second major characteristic of the work is the working through of the transference, where interpretations and links can be made with the person’s own life story. It also implies becoming aware of certain conflicting patterns of behaviour which are repeated, because they have remained unconscious for so long.

André has been a clinical psychologist and psychoanalyst for more than 25 years. His work has been in a variety of settings, i.e. in psychiatric hospitals, private practice, general hospitals and in several different cultures (Netherlands, UK, USA, Germany and in Australia since 1994).
